Third Quarter Folk Song Project - Part 3

Due: Thursday, March 14 during class

  1. Write lyrics for your own tune.
    1. It should have an A section and a B section.
    2. The A section is the VERSE.  The lyrics will change each time, but will be somehow related.
    3. The B section is the CHORUS.  You should be able to repeat it after every verse.
  2. Write a rhythm to go with your lyrics.
    1. The rhythm should be in 4/4.
    2. Each section of A and each section of B should be 8 measures long.
    3. You may need to modify your lyrics to fit the rhythms.
  3. Transfer your rhythms and lyrics into FINALE NOTEPAD.
    1. Enter your rhythm on a single note (middle line).
    2. Be sure to separate the syllables correctly.  Two syllables=Two notes.
    3. Five points extra credit if you can add TWO lines of verse (A) using the lyric tool.
