All-Town Orchestra Festival features 400 String Students!!

The Music Department is pleased to announce that the Darien All-Town Orchestra Festival will take place in the Main Gym at Darien High on Wednesday, February 27. In order to accommodate the large number of audience members there will be two separate performances. The first concert will be at 6:30 p.m. and the second concert will be at 8:00 p.m.  Each program will last approximately 50 minutes.

Over 400 string students from grades 4-12 throughout the district have been preparing for their festival performances.  The featured ensembles will include the combined Fourth and Fifth Grade Orchestra students, the Middlesex Middle School Orchestras, The MMS Rockestra, The DHS Pops Strings, and the DHS Orchestra. The program will conclude with a finale featuring all 400 string students performing the American Hoedown “Devil’s Dream.”

Admission to this event is by ticket only. Tickets are free and can be obtained by contacting any school orchestra teacher or by calling the District Music Office at: 203-655-3981 ext: 2250. The snowdate for this event is February 28.
