Lightly Row Quartet

Here is today's composition assignment. It is due on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11.
(If you were absent today, you will need to get a copy of the in-class work that was done today.)

Lightly Row Quartet
1. You will be using the materials written in class today.
2. Part 1 and Part 4 will be the melody and bass line on the handout. The melody can be whatever string instrument you choose, but the bass line has to be for bass or cello.
3. Parts 2 and 3 are written using the chord tones of G (G, B, D) and D (D, F#, A).
4. In Parts 2 and 3, follow these rules:
*Start and end on G
*Use only the chord tones indicated in #3
*Work only in one octave, do not make crazy jumps.
*Use only quarter note and double-eighth note combinations
5. Title it appropriately. Second Quarter Assignment isn't a good title. Make it something about rowing, water, boats, etc.

Do Not EMAIL this composition to me. Print it out and be ready to play it on Monday.

I e-mailed you my version. You can copy and paste the violin 1 and bass line into your own version if you want to work smart and not hard.
