- Download Finale Notepad at http://www.finalemusic.com/products/finale-notepad/
- Open Finale Notepad to write your music
- Title it HALLOWEEN WALTZ
- Put your name for the Composer
- Choose Strings > Your instrument > Add
- Time Signature is 3/4
- Number of measures = 12
- In D Minor - same as F Major: key signature has 1 flat (B-flat)
Be sure to have all of the Toolbars or Palettes open. You can do this by clicking Window from the top tool bar. Be sure all of the Palettes are checked.
This composition will be in A B A form. This means that the first 4 measures are the same as the last 4 measures. The middle 4 measures are different in style (different rhythms are best).
You need to start on D.
You need to end on D.
You should use all the notes of the D minor scale. When you are listening to the piece, you may find that C# works better than C natural. Go ahead and add it.
*Be sure to listen to your composition. Is it something that you could play on your instrument? Are there a lot of jumps or is it scaler?
