Folk Song Project: Final Step

The final step of the Third Quarter Folk Song Project is to put all the parts of your Folk Song together.

  1. Open your Back-Up file and your Lyrics file.
  2. Create a new file.
  3. For now, you do not need to have a title.
  4. Choose THREE voice: two lines of your own instrument and one double bass.
  5. The piece is in 4/4, in A Major, and is 16 measures long.
  6. With the new, blank music open, go to the Back-Up file.  Copy the music and paste it in the new file on the bottom two lines.
  7. Now, copy the Lyrics and paste into the top line.
  8. Adjust the notes of the Lyrics to sound good with the Back-up.  Use notes of the A Pentatonic (A, B, C#, E, F#).  You may need to adjust your lyrics & melody in this step.
Once you have completed the song, title it appropriately.  It should have something to do with the lyrics.

Grading Check List:
  • A Major
  • 16 measures, A-A B-B form (add repeats)
  • 3 instrumental lines, lowest one being a BASS line.
  • Time signature is 4/4
  • Melody must use notes of the A Pentatonic Scale.
  • EXTRA CREDIT: MP3 recording made in GarageBand
DUE: FRIDAY, APRIL 5 BY 11:59 P.M.
