PERIOD ONE ASSIGNMENT:

GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN (25 points)

In Finale, write out this minor melody for your instrument.  These are the guidelines:

Key Signature: E minor

Time Signature: Cut time or 4/4
Use an anacrusis for first note
+3 points bonus credit for a harmony part

DUE: THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20 by 5 p.m.

PERIOD FOUR ASSIGNMENT:

JINGLE BELLS (25 points)

In Finale Notepad, write out the melody for Jingle Bells for your instrument.  It should include this entire melody: 

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

Even though the words are the same, the melody changes in the second half.

Key Signature: D Major

Time Signature: 4/4 or Common Time

The melody starts on the 3^rd step of the D Major scale, not D.
