Not together among the sections, intonation problems, when moving into trio, it took a couple measures to change to new tempo.

Second violins need to play stronger and be more staccato

I think the cellos can have crisper notes at the end of phrases and be more confident/sure of our entrance at D.

Some notes at th beginning of measures are off rythm. Good dynamics and accents. Cello section at part D needa work.

Lily Fairleigh- I think the violas can play more in synch because we aren't together in section A we should also be louder and more precise in the coda because those notes seem to be slurping together

1) tempo. Sometimes we would speed up or go to fast. We should decide on a common tempo for each section.
2) dynamics. Adding dynamics would add a whole new complexity to the music.

Use more staccato in the third measure of A. Play the notes at G, H, and I with more life.

Nicole Santella: Our bowing needs to be more precise. Our dynamics can be emphasized more. Violins were slightly out of tune at Part B.

I think that my section can work on playing on time in unison. Basically to be on the beat, and together. My group can also accent the first note and work on the articulation of Sleigh Ride, to make the piece interesting, besides dynamics.

The cellos need to be more together during the TRIO and the beginning of the Coda. Additionally the ending was not unified.

The first violins were not as together as they could have been. Also they could work on intonation. Overall, I think everyone played very well.

I noticed that the violins were not together, and displayed many intonation issues throughout the piece. At the coda, the cellos had trouble understanding the rhythm, and the entire orchestra was unable to develop a solid line of phrasing.

First Violins-
1. Be careful with intonation, especially with higher notes between measures 1-16 and even 16-20.
2. More dynamic variation- the pianos and fortes don't sound too different, and there also needs to be an "in between" dynamic (mf). So, emphasize the dynamics and changes in dynamics.

Caeleigh O'Connor- We were on pitch for almost all of the piece, but the violins lost some of their nice sound quality as the notes got higher. Also the violas were not always on time for their notes at B and G. They were always a little late starting and some violas held the notes longer than they were supposed to.

At some times, different sections will go faster or slower than other sections. This especially happens at transitions and sections with harder notes.

The beginning notes are strong but the group stays at that strong dynamic for almost the whole piece. This fits in the beginning but doesn't sound good in the parts that are supposed to be quiet.

1. We need more dynamic variety
2. We rush at parts
3. The lower and upper strings were off sometimes

For the first violins, they need to watch miss minnis at part b. There is a tempo change, and at the beginning of part b everyone is not together. People should write glasses into their music so they look up at miss minnis.
Additionally, the chords at the end of the piece are a little mushy and need to be crisper.

The second violin can improve their intonation at measure B; a few notes sound flat.
The sections that are playing during measures 4-8 need to create a clearer, more unified sound.

Make sure the staccato quarter notes are sharper in the first two lines.

Make sure on the triplet sixteenth notes everyone is starting together and no starting to early.

At the beginning, the first violins aren't quite together while playing the eighth notes, especially the slurred ones. Also, the first violins play to loudly and overpower the other sections during the Trio.

Violins need to make notes in measure 10 more distinct. Violas burp less in coda.

The entire ensemble still needs to play quieter at part C, so that there is a larger change in dynamics when returning to forte at the beginning. Cohesion between groups throughout the piece could also be improved.

Megan Cunningham:
The forte at the beginning of the dog was very strong, however it lost some of its momentum during the repeat of A. Also, the violins need to be more crisp on the eighth note slurs at the end with the sticcato notes in the middle.

We need to work on the dynamics of each part, for example if the 1st violins have the melody, then the other sections need to play a little more quietly. We also need to work a little on our rhythm and practice being more in sync with each other.

Caroline Lowder - In the beginning, the violins could be a little bit more together. The piano during the sleigh ride part is very good throughout. The violins could have a little better tone throughout.

1. The notes need to be more defined in the beginning. It sounds like a blob.
2. Intonation during the long slurred part.

Jake Morro- cellos did great. Don't change a thing with them. Everyone else needs to step it up though. I liked what they did but that's no constructive so they need to play with more confidence and need to be more precise. They were together but the notes were not so precise and right on the dot. They gotta focus and look up at you more. I think that's it. Byeeeeeeee

Nicole Czaja- the staccatos need to be emphasized. If we all looked at Mrs.Minnis then we could sound more together. We all need to listen to eachother playing the different parts so that there is a call and a response.
