C day = Composition Day

Compositions are always assigned for homework on C days. The first composition assignment is to write a melody in D Major. Here are the parameters:

• The piece should be handwritten.


• It should have the appropriate clef sign and key signature (F# and C#).


• The piece will be 6 measures long.


• It will begin on D and end on D. The last note should be a half note.


• You can only use the notes D, E, F#, G and A.


• You can only use quarter notes and half notes. No more than TWO rests of the same value can be used.

This assignment is due on Thursday, September 15 (E day).
