- Use the original 7-note composition as the A section of your piece. You may add notes in order to create a musical resolution. You cannot remove notes.
- Write a B section to compliment the A section. This section will be a minimum of 7 notes.
- End the piece with the original A section, which can be modified slightly to resolve.
There is no correct time signature or key signature, but you must use bother. Determine the best rhythm based upon how the notes fit together.
Your melody must be written using FINALE NOTEPAD. Five points will be deducted if it is hand-written.
Assessment (20 points):
Piece is in A B A form (5 points)
Piece is a minimum of 21 notes (5 points)
Correct corresponding notes for the A section (2 points)
Correct time signature---your choice (2 points)
Use of a key signature (3 points)
Can you play what you wrote? (3 points)
