Final Instructions

Composition Project: Final Instructions

1.Write out your melodic examples using Finale Notepad. Be sure to put a one-measure rest in between each example. Try to use the Lyrics/Text tool to write in the example names.
a.Write the number of the computer you used on the top of your composition
2.Record your melodic examples in Garage Band.
a.Announce each one before playing (example: “Example One: Step-wise motion”).
b.Record each example on the same track.
c.Hit stop between each one so that you can edit it/delete that section.
3.Save your work as your name on the desktop.
4.Export your musical example to iTunes.

You must e-mail me an MP3 version of your recording to Q4Project@gmail.com. I do not want a CD. Here are the instructions for creating an MP3 to e-mail.

When you are in iTunes, click on iTunes in the upper left corner of the tool bar.
Click Preferences
Click Advanced
Click Importing
Find Import Using and change to MP3 Encoder
Find Setting and change to Good Quality
Close that window

Find the musical selection you would like to convert and highlight it.
Click Advanced on the tool bar.
Click Covert Selection to MP3

Now your composition should be an MP3. To send it to me, you must open your e-mail program and send it as an attachment.

To find the mp3, go to FINDER on the bottom task bar.
Go to MUSIC
Go to iTunes
Go to iTunes Music

And find it somewhere in there. Be sure to send me the mp3 version, not one with a different extension.
