In this project, you will work in pairs. Find a friend/acquaintance that you feel comfortable working with and that you know will finish the assignment on time. No one is allowed to work on two projects.
In the lab, each computer will have a 12-bar blues progression in C, which you will need to use for your project. If you are using your home computer for this project, bring in a flash drive to copy and bring home.
1. Add drums and bass to the existing progression. The bass part should be C (4 measures), F (2 measures), C (2 measures), G (1 measure), F (1 measure) and C (2 measures)
2. The C blues scale consists of C-Eb-F-F#-G-Bb-C. Working with you partner, take turns improvising melodies over the progression. The best way is to play 8 beats each.
3. Save your composition to the desktop in the BLUES folder. They will be posted on our website so parents and others can listen to them.
